It are alive! not without alot of blood sweat and tears, but ITS ALIVE!!!! Motherboard is different as well if you noticed from the older pics, I actually had an arguement with gigabyte because they wanted to charge me to change a CPU socket which was factory defective.
Obviously, i complained. I pointed out that i should receive a new if not fixed board because i received mine faulty, not only that, but that it was bad business practice so on so forth. After 're-considering' my case, they sent me an UPGRADE board.
Thats right people, upgraded. What you're looking at her is the EP35-DS3P. Difference you say? this one has CrossfireX support. A ploy by god perhaps to ready me for the ATi HD4xxx series sprouting end this month.
Installing windows for the machine now, and gonna see if they're kind enough to send me a back plate for the mobo lol. l8ers
As many of you who are in tune with the computing world would know, XP Service Pack 3 is out already, harboring with it performance improvements and the like :) as of such i took the liberty of once again doing up a custom Windows install disk of my own, Integrated with Service Pack 3 and not to mention all the latest hotfixes you can get via windows updates right down to April 2008, to boot (and no pun intended), it comes with a kinky desktop theme on startup with new sounds as well as the programs which i'm familiar with. Photo attached. :)
The other day i received a reply from gigabyte regarding my board, and they told me to contact the local distributor. Which i did. First group was extreme unfriendly and had these people asking me to file in all this random paperwork. So i didn't and i just skipped along to the second distributor. Difference like black and white lol. They were kind enough to actually help me out all the way right down to connecting me straight with gigabyte australia.
Because of that, i sent in my board just yesterday and because i complained extra to the spokesperson, she expedited my case to take 3 days instead of 7 kuh kuh kuh... and they mentioned that they possibly might change me to a better board too :D
in other news,
Discovered i had photos still in my mobile phone so i'll just randomly post them up now lol. My ext HDD and the usb cable... which is defective like now =.=
New printer :) works really well :D
Looks nice to boot too!
And just a box of my Centuron 590 casing hahaha
Pretend you don't see the xbox controller down the bottom :D the laptop is playing GoW!
Ah yes, more trippies pictures. Followed my friend Ga Jin and his family down to Yarra Valley
Rather large and desolate like but still a breather from the city life haha
View from the inside of one of the Vineyards. Its really dark but oh well.
Vast plains of to be wine... MMMMM
And some weird island thing up center lol
Yeah, its large o.o
And just a shot before we were about to leave
Panorama didn't come off too well but i tried O_O
Can't remember but yeah, waterfall like thing XD
Small but it was fairly chilly down around there >_>
Went visiting Monash university lol. Why doesn't our uni have Snakes! SNAKES ARE COOL! XD
That guy is rather huge and it kept climbing around and i just watched it do its thing while i waited for my friend david lol O.o Eventually it climbed up ontot the lights >_> which i found interesting as it was struggling to be up top
Then chilling out with some Black Label at David's after we take care of a certain cockroach infested microwave. =.=
Thats david btw lol
Just a screenie from my computer and i find it extremely amusing. Read through it carefully XD
How i looked like after sitting at a chair posting for 3 hours the other day.
Well, i just cleaned the code for the actual blog itself, you won't see anything visual in terms of change but i shortened and cleaned the code pretty intensively lol :P
Took out obsolete stuff. I might decide to shift it over to the new blogger template but we'll see. That'll take some time to mend the new code so that it works like my current. hmm.
EDIT: More changes made as you can see. I fixed up the xFire such that it shows itself clearer now as well as a new background (shadow) and also some of you noticed the new Live Chat already : P not that anyone live chats in my blog but its still a fun addition :)
Here's another picture courtesy of my friend David of my defective motherboard. Open up the picture full scale then pull your head back and you should be able to spot the darkish area in the socket which is the broken pin. >_>
Sweet lord. If i ever have to upload this many pictures ever again i'll be a very very frustrated man :X Anyway, what we have here today is a post with lots of blood, sweat, tears, laughter and joy. All in one! well, its got massive amount of pics and it took me more than 30 minutes to upload them all not coz it took me long to upload them (thank god i did this at uni) but rather the sheer amount of volume of the pictures. We shall start a bit random and joyful then more documentation on adventures lol
- Spammage starts - mmm.. Melbourne sushi... not that bad and after 4:30pm i get a nice $2 off... which is good since i am tight on budget xD
Picture of my new 2gb kit of Patriot Extreme Performance DDR2 4-4-4-12 Timings computer ram :D which i bought off ebay for 69 AUD :3
Yes folks, this hamster is yet again on another tough journey of building another computer, this time for his australian usage :D
No idea why the seller decided to cut that side off but i think all that is is just a bar code. Oh well. As you can see its EPP certified and SLi ready... not that i'll ever SLi, at least not now.
Nice little Patriot symbol up the other side. Those are heatsinks by the way in case any of you might be wondering :)
Then the casing arrives. spent 95 AUD on it, the CoolerMaster Centurion 590. Latest model so it took some time to actually arrive into australia hahaha... but i waited :)
Little 40gb external hard disk sitting up top as well haha... which is actually from the Dell laptop that i'm using now just that i swapped the hard drive in here with a Western Digital 120gb :)
Screenshot of her internals... And ooh, if you didn't notice already, those grills on the side are for 120mm fans. I've currently got 7 120mm fans installed in her haha... overkill? NEVER. To overclockers, cooling is never overdone.
Has a funky hard drive tray up front and if you notice closely around the bottom side, it actually is supported by rubber placeholders sort of things... shock absorbing for when you instinctively decide to kick you computer... because you suck. >P
Yarrrrrr XBOX 360 Mutha fukars!!!!! Currently have Gears of War, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and Pro Evo Soccer (which i don't play) for it. Actually not as much as a beast as i thought it would be. In a way i have to say that its hardware is a bit disappointing.
Back to the Pc :) as you can see, CoolerMaster 120mm casefans :D
And they're huge too O_O about two stretches the length of my thighs as you can see.
No computer is complete without an optical drive and it goes without saying i got one. LG DVD-RW 20x burning speed on a SATA interface. IDE is old school biatches!
The power supply that will be used to power the beast, a CoolerMaster RealPower 550W PSU, with 80% energy efficiency and peak wattage of 650W.
Glows a cool blue as well when turned on lawl.
Yar.... hard drive! self explanatory again, but a 320gb Western Digital SATA2 hard drive :)
This is the interesting one. I'll explain to you why. But if you can notice the issue before i tell you i congratulate thee.
Gigabyte EP35-DS3R on an Intel P35 chipset for my overclocking needs... P35 chipsets have proven to be a highly overclockable chipset so this helps my cause.
Now, this picture if you click on it, i actually didn't resize it down to a 1024 width pixel restriction. Why? well, so that you, the reader, can obviously click on me and tell me what is wrong with it, and realise that i didn't know that till a few weeks later.
Anyway, the parts slapped together, with a watt usage meter up front which comes with the CoolerMaster Power Supply.
Huzza! THE GRAPHICS CARD ARRIVES.
A kinky MSI 8800 GT stock overclocked to 650mhz :3
Picture of the casing now with everything slapped in :D (except CPU.) Some cable management is also done as to not restrict the airflow in the case.
My DDR2 ram sticks put in. You'll notice that they're inserted red & red, thats because when you do so with matching ram sticks, you make full use of Dual Channelling :D which of course adds to some level of performance increase.
The black xBox 360 controller arrives! which is mine by the way hahaha... black n white xD
My CPU cooler which i bought off ebay, and a wonderful performer as well, the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro :)
The box at which it came in.
And its funky logo XD
This is what happens when you're feeling adventurous and decide to make some cool food with what you've got in your fridge. What you're looking at here is my self made Gyuudon (which is supposedly Beef Bowl in Japanese though now that i think about it, Teriyakidon fits it better hahahaha). Thats sliced chicken and cheese schnitzel on rice which i cooked with partial soy sauce and onions :) it tasted GOOD. Mind you i know how to cook despite how dependent i may seem at times. (Blatant advertising for myself for girls looking for a boyfriend who knows how to cook. COUGH)
The quad core arrives! and when i am in the middle of installing it on the mobo....
If you spotted the problem earlier, i congratulate you. If not, here is the answer. In this picture if you look further a slight bit, and not to mention in the picture above, you'll notice this small black dot on the CPU socket on the motherboard. YES, I HAVE ONE BROKEN PIN ON MY MOTHERBOARD. BLOODY HELL!
To add, i went to MSY yesterday and lodged a complaint for selling me a defective board and all they could say is "its not our fault D: take it up with gigabyte D: if we changed it we'd be operating at a lost DDDD:"
YEAH. exactly. thats how much they value their customers. fucking twats. =.= what else can i say. At the moment i'm picking the fight straight with gigabyte for letting a defective board pass their QC. If they don't change me a new one, i'm going to lodge a consumer law suit :)
- Happier n longer bit starts here -
So my friend from Adelaide was interested in coming down to Melbourne and asked whether i could accommodate him for a weekend or so and despite having a really small place, i agree to it :) i'm kind like that : D lol ok but seriously, yeah, its chilled. So what he does when he was around was drag me around and makes me make an effort to actually discover Melbourne more lol.
We first went to the Games Exhibition down at Federation square and even though i wasn't supposed to take any pictures while i was in there, i managed to get away with a few kekeke.... Its basically old school games all over again! and it had documentation on them as well :) groundbreaking legendaryness~
As you can see some people were already here enjoying the nostalgia :D
And giant mario! WOOO MARIO XD
I actually should've taken a picture on the other side as well as they had a picture of the old Pixel mario hahahaha
I'm pretty sure this is the art-ish drama center building what not XD and yes its tall~
We went and visited the Melbourne National Art Gallery but it was closed... so so much for that idea. oh well. Still, it had a cool water fountain thing up front hahaha
And a funky emblem up top which i can't make out what it is and i'm pretty sure people are laughing at me because i don't know what it is. Whatever. stuff u. xP
Distracting waterfountainnessssss
Then we turned back and walked along South Gate anyway... which is basically on the other side of Melbourne CBD....
Crossing the bridge to make it back to Flinders side :)
I'm pretty sure i took cool pictures of the bridge but oh well they're not here... so thats weird. :X
Back on Flinders side :D and taking pictures of South Gate :3
And then taking pictures of my uni building... hahaha
Road works begin O_o maintaining the tram tracks at the intersection of Flinders and Swanston.
Then we visited the Melbourne Aquarium! XD WEEE FISHIES! XD i love fishes... and i love the sea and i love aquariums... i might sound like a little kid about this but i really do love it so you can shove your hatred up your arse XD
And a crab with issues... One pincer bigger than the other... lol. Ok so i know thats natural but stfu D: i'm trying to be funny >_>
Sea horses~ lol ok so not very exciting but cute. :P
Lobstar~ blending in with the enviroment...
And small sharks lol
So i'm not quire sure why this is here but there are insects in this little plastic box lol... spot them :)
Insects are plenty cool as well... i don't see why alot of people are grossed out by them. I just don't like roaches but thats about it hahahaha
This is actually cooler in person, but it is a scorpion whose body reacts to UV light :D
And scorpions are plenty cool too XD
MmMMMMM SPIDERS
And massive centi/mili pedes... i think its centi :X
And more spidars~ XD
Weird Starfish thing hugging the glass o.o"
Massive pond like thing with more fishies~
And a whole shoal of em... its shoal right? O_O
Random lizard in an aquarium o.o"
Climbed under the aquarium to find eels!
And more piranha looking fishes in a mayan looking backdrop.
Had so much more impact in person but it was cool lol
And a massive mask thing! XD
This one had baby alligators in it hahaha
Tiny!
And a bigger shot of the whole mayan ruins thing.
Yes... frogs... randomly in there o.o"
And i know this is weird but i didn't know that poison arrow frogs were actually this small!
They're hardly the size of one fingernail of mine D:
Which i think adds more to the danger thing >_> being so small and all.
Woo Jellyfish spamming XD
There were quite a few with glows as well and i think these might be one of them that glowed orange. UV isn't captured really well in my phone cam i apologize. If you're bored enough you can even watch as i do some weird narration about the jellyfishes o.o"
And massive Japanese crabs o.o
With more single sided big pincer crabs lol
And i remember this one from those dinosaur books i used to read as a kid and i was shocked to actually see a live one... Horseshoe Crab
Rawr great white!
Massive Manta ray? O_o
With more sharky goodness lawl
Rather ugly looking fish o.o looks like it has some weird lump on its face xD
More mantas :D
And more...
And more with sharks XD you can tell i'm obsessed about marine life in a way lol
I'm not even near done yet with all the content i'm posting. sad. Anyway, we went to the Museum after that... :)
And this building is huge, though i got no idea what it is o.o"
Dinosaurness hahahaha... they're always fun.
I can't remember what this animal was but you can tell it was pretty epic o.o
And a pretty big head.
And an even longer body hahahaha
Pythons in a box (dead already) with comparison skeletons lol
Australia's first computer.... HUGE.
Picture isn't quite justice but its actually a very big squid.. caption says Whale meets squid for lunch o.o"
Cross section of a beetle :D the other side shows the cross section but i thought this side was cooler xD
More insects playing camoflage
And roaches running around a mini house xD
Now i have no idea whether these were still alive but yeah, more spiders O_O
I think as much as i love them i'd still be massively freaked finding one of these climbing on me... unless i knew it wouldn't bite D: if not it'd be ZOMG GET OFFFFF
I really should've attached their names along with the pics but its been too long and i can't recall what their names are >_>
Yeah like i said i can't tell if they were still alive or not >_> though spiders might not still be in this same position if dead... they usually do those curling up don't they? then again it could be stuffed o.o"
hehe Beetle line up according to size... cool :3
With more bones XD
And alligatornessss
And what museum would be complete without a skeleton of a t-rex and a bronchiosaurus!
This might be the duck bill dino though i'm not sure... judging from the mouth it probably is o.o"
:D long neck!
And of course panorama lol... click on it for a bigger view
Had to climb the stairs just to get to its head =.=
Totem pole ness!
With lots of carvings o.o (i'm running out of things to say you can tell can't you? >_>)
Australian sake. never try. tastes like shit. god what a waste of money =.=
Its like a cheap blend of vodka! even cheap vodka doesn't taste this bad honestly.
i would've thrown it away if not for me being the non wasteful type.
My friend who came over from adelaide as we ate pizza with the sake.
They were having some comedy night so i just randomly decided to take pictures
lol i didn't take as much pictures as i should've but we went pub crawling xD
Drunk yet? hmmm...
Indeed what we needed to wash down the horrible taste of that sake was some proper smirnoff :D
I got a feeling i took this while i was drunk already =.= we struggled to get back to the apartment and my head was hurting like mad after that... good thing i didn't throw up.
The not so subtle reminder of a certain someone everytime i walk to the university
Yet they closed down last i checked and the sign is now some other weird sushi place lol
Taking a walk the next day in the park to get over the hangover hehe
Panorama of the harbor at which we went... can't recall the name but it was a fair distance from the city.
View of the city from the harbor
Palais theater which was very close
And a shoddy theme park... like really shoddy lol... i want proper roller coasters >_>
Then it was just sitting on the beach, walking on the sand and kicking the water to work away the hangover.
Nice views and beautiful waters.
I swear you can never get waters this clear in malaysia -.-
Every 5 meters theres bound to be thrash lying around and the water is murky brown/green
So coming here actually let me enjoy and appreciate the beach alot more...
Then we found a crypt O_O
I mean, its HUGE. and it spams stairs to no end.
There are four of these on each side and they represent something (which i can't recall..) and the camera didn't quite pick up the words below them engraved on the stone.
But these are basically guardians i think... and this place is a memorabilia to the men and women who fell during the multiple wars o.o
The crypt was pretty cool if you asked me and it was fairly old as well D:
After coming here i had this weird desire to play oblivion ^^"
Massive walkway as well...
With this one facing the city.
You can tell how big it is just from looking at these pictures... just scale yourself down really small o.o
And one hell of a walk to get to the actual crypt lol...
The eternal flame in remembrance of those fallen in war.
Then its off to a japanese stall to have the Asian blur Jase experience some japanese food lol
The man had no idea how to use chopsticks and i didn't allow him to use anything else to eat the noodles XD
We revisited the crypt the next day when it was open.
I wish i had really brought a better camera with me. In the end a camera phone just can't keep up in low lighting conditions.
But these were really cool... again i regret i don't have nicer pictures to share.
obviously of the four corners each side had engravings of its own...
And this is the last side...
then we climbed up the crypt and i took some pictures from the top..
I'm pretty sure that tall building that you see from here is the eureka towers :)
And now we have to walk back down there and head back to the city. (we didn't take tram for the majority of the trip, except for heading to the beach.)
And finally the gardens hahaha...
I swear if i have to post this much pictures ever again i'm going to start heavily complaining =.=. Time started = 1:30pm. Time ended = 4:35pm. GUH.
