First off, I just saw Hoie Chew off today. He went back to Canada, 16 hour flight lol... i'd hate to be on that flight... And i gotta admit since i'll be here for a while, its sort of getting a tad more sad and lonely seeing him leave and driving my car home alone although i'm used to, just seemed more lonely this time around. Oh well, he'll be back :P

The other day as well i went out for a dinner with my more extended family, extended to the extent that i don't even remember 1/2 of their names... ok so its not really their fault but i just didn't bother to remember or i'm just a crappy cousin/ nephew haha xD

K700i pic, at Leos in god knows where lol i can't remember... Their ice coffee was REALLY good (Might be even better than Starbucks & Coffee Bean), and it was 1/3 the price at starbucks and coffee bean. The reality of that statement was that Leo's was located with Coffee Bean on its right and Starbucks on its left LOL.

Got a new cover for the K700i... was nice blackness, ordered off ebay...
Was quite happy with it and happily installed it when....
OH NOES. WHEN I WAS TAKING IT APART, I ACCIDENTALLY TUGGED THE LCD RIBBON A TAD TOO HARD AND NOW MY SCREEN ONLY DISPLAYS WHITE! It works fine but UGGH... its all white... tried numerous times to fix it up to no avail :(
Went to a repair shop the next day to get a quote on a new LCD and they said it'll cost me RM250 WTF >_> i could get a new phone with that... not only that they said if i chose to repair it i could only trade off the phone for RM100 here so.... wtf? lol >_>
Not only that, checked out what i found when i examined the new casing i got...
Wtf? the aluminium plate came off so easily and a massive crack on the side? O_O
Distorted 'QuickShare' logo? >_>
Cracked plastic below the 'QuickShare' logo? O_O
Another crack below the LCD protective plastic? wtf? >_<>_>
Regardless on getting a new case and all, i still didn't have a phone to use... thats when i took the bold move of swiping the card...
Hence The Sony Ericsson K750i ended up in my possession.
With a stunning 2.0 MegaPixel Camera with Auto-Focus, it was a good deal for me at RM640... Take away the fact its a 2 year old model, its a stunning phone.
It just screamed of "GIVE ME T3H S3x0RS" As i looked at it above the counter lol >_> so i took the plunge...
I actually saw this model back when i was getting my K700i but if i recalled it costed 1.2 or 1.3 ish K back then (thats RM1200 or RM1300 to you guys who have no idea what the last sentence meant)

-= HEADSET MODIFICATIONS SEGMENT =-
Once upon a time, i owned a K700i which was working, and it came with a headset. By some stroke of bad luck, it was left near the hamster cage and somehow it managed to make it out and turn the cabling of the Handsfree for my mobile into some sort of delicious snack. I was henceforth left with nothing short of a screwed up headset. Boo...
That was more than 2-3 years back. I then decided then to try and salvage it by a method i've never threaded into before, which was making it a 3.5mm earphones instead which was taken from my old pair of Altec Lansing headphones which screwed up on a speaker level. O_O
At first, i failed horribly with no one being able to help me, not even my electronics expert Woolford.
It was left to rot and gain dust until i recently learned that the wire coating on the stranded wire needed to be applied some heat to reveal the copper underneath that actually was the one carrying the current, e.g. the music >_>
It was then restarted after i worked on the OTHER screwed up Altec Lansing headset which i'll show you in a while.
Thus this was born. Through a magnitude of soldering attempts, i finally did it. I'm using it now, Sony Ericsson earphones plugged into an mp3 player ;)
Initially i thought it was the fault of the 3.5mm jack but turns out it was working fine haha...
So its resurrection mission began! its outer casing was opened, taken apart and resprayed ;D
And now it shines a glossy black with full pride : D
The headset with just the bottom plastic housing in place. The top suffered massive cracks from my opening back then and now its being rehabitated lol :P
This is the one i was working on before i started with the Sony Ericsson ones. Initially i bought this pair with quiet some high expectations, but after a while i found out that it was seriously flawed... Its variable resistor used was seriously screwed up and you at times didn't get sound out from the headset... boo... So i took an older cheaper headset pair, Somic brand if you must know and since it was blown as well due to one side not kicking any sound, i swapped it around.
To see the original looks of the Altec Lansing, look for the AHS 302i in Google Images haha...You can see in this one the mic on the headset itself is removed, thats because the variable resistor i swapped it with (Volume controller in lame man's terms) Had a better built in mic in it... who would've known the Altec Lansing lost to a cheaper china brand lol >_>
The earpads as well i modified to adapt with the ones used in the Somic pair as it gives this one a bass lift as well as passive noise reduction :)
If you compared you can actually see the noticable differences... this is the older photo with the mic still attached.
And thus, with that, 2 new headsets were born :3 I love toying with stuff hehe...
Now time for sleepy... its 2:34am and i got work that needs me to be up by 6:15... >_> i'm so screwed lol >_<
